It doesn’t matter whether you’re a beginner or pro, as there are cycle paths, mountain bike routes and trails for all ability levels. Take a break at one of the many rest areas along the way and enjoy the Nockberge’s unique landscape. The gentle alpine world guarantees moments of happiness like nowhere else. What are you waiting for? On you get and off you go!
Bad Kleinkirchheim has an extra special highlight in store for those who like a faster pace: Europe’s longest Flow Country Trail! The trail was opened in 2019 and starts at an altitude of over 2,000 m at the Kaiserburgbahn mountain station. Let it flow from the mountain to the valley: the 15 km long trail surprises with its multifaceted sections and can also be combined with other bike routes and the nock/lake trails to Feld am See. You don’t need to worry about transporting your bike either. Half of the Kaiserburgbahn cabins have been modified to ensure a smooth ascent.
A ride along the trail promises one thing above all: pure variety! Rollers, small drops and individual steep turns promise plenty of fun along the gravel route. The Flow Country Trail can be left at certain points, meaning that beginners and pros can use the trail simultaneously in a safe manner. There are also opportunities to take a break at the rest and relaxation areas along the way.
Before heading out on the trail, however, we recommend that beginners in particular make use of the pump tracks in Bad Kleinkirchheim and the nock/bike practice circuit in Feld am See. Here you can work on your technique around an approximately 400 m long circuit with pumps, Northshore elements, stone and root sections, steps and banked turns.
Start: at an altitude of 2,055 m at the Kaiserburg mountain station
